NY Bankruptcy Attorney

New York Bankruptcy

As a New York bankruptcy attorney, I work with individuals and married couples to obtain debt relief, helping my clients get their financial lives back on track. When you file for bankruptcy, you can get a fresh start, and also put an end to stressful calls and letters from banks, debt collection agencies, and other creditors.

Over the last several decades, the wages of many New Yorkers have not kept up with the rising costs of health insurance, medical expenses, rent, and education. And the extremely high interest rates charged by credit card companies can quickly overwhelm almost anyone, especially if they’ve lost their job, or faced a serious illness or injury. No one is immune to financial struggles, but fortunately, most people who are struggling with debt do qualify for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection, which can completely discharge (eliminate) most types of debt, and in many instances the debtor can keep all of their property.

Flat-Fee Payment

I charge my Chapter 7 bankruptcy clients a flat-fee, which means that you’ll know exactly what you’re going to pay, and you will not be given surprise bills for calling or emailing me. I understand the stresses that my clients are facing, and the last thing I’d want to do would be to add legal fees to their list of worries. I also offer payment plans as well.

Convenient Online Options

I use an online program called Next Chapter® that allows you to upload the necessary documents for your case, and communicate with me via text messages. The program can also send you automatic reminders, and you can view your file and see the status of your petition at any time. I am happy to meet with you virtually, via video conferences, so you can get started without having to leave home.

Of course, if you prefer to meet in person, I am happy to do that as well.

What is Included?

When you hire me for your Chapter 7 bankruptcy, you’ll receive:

  • Preparation of your bankruptcy petition.

  • Answers and advice regarding your bankruptcy and financial situation.

  • Preparation for your meeting with the Bankruptcy Trustee, which is also known as the “Meeting of the Creditors.” We bankruptcy attorneys refer to these meetings “341 hearings.”

  • Legal representation at your 341 hearing. You will not have to face the Bankruptcy Trustee alone.

  • If your creditors continue to seek payment after the bankruptcy petition has been filed, or after your debts have been discharged, I may be able to win you money from your creditors. Your creditor would pay my legal fee if I win you money, and you would not have to pay any legal fees if I did not win.
